Found one annoyance with the F42.
There is some sort of static, like noise and quiet crackling if there
is no signal on the digital input (tested only toslink).
For example turn off your PC.

hmmm. I updated to 7.1 for my ReadyNAS a few days ago and it installed
FW 40 on my transporter. Then I switched back to running my
transporter off my windows machine server and it loaded FW36 onto my
transporter. Unfortunately, the transporter no longer output music.

I hope your efforts are successful.
As it is here now, the rattle is not every 5-15 seconds,
I waited two days before giving my evaluation: everything worked fine.
But alas, I was too optimistic. For mysterious reasons, yesterday
evening the degaussing rattle started again.
I don't have the illusion that I can help much here, but maybe it helps
when I say that the 'rattling' started
Is this in the current unstable builds? or just testing?

I installed FW42 saturday (with SC7.1). Since then I listened to a lot
of music and saw two films with my son (via digital RCA input). My
experiences so far:
1. Switching from digital to network and back is flawless (no noise).

At least you can get something out of digital inputs some of the time - I get
nothing all of the time! An improvement over FW40 though, where sometimes I
got some odd beeps and splurts ;)

Whew, FW 42 saved me. I was running 7.00 on both my Windows and
ReadyNAS servers. I tried updating to 7.1 build 19530 on the ReadyNAS
which installed FW 40. After figuring out to use CleanSlimServer to

I have upgraded to FW42.
I can't seem to play any digital input. I have a CD player connected through
RCA COAX, but I've tried playing all digital inputs. The Now Playing screen
says playtime 00:00.
With FW40, I was hearing a few beeps and splutters, but also no music.
BTW, I also tried
i would like to install 42FW but no Bin file is posted. I require the
Bin file for my Infrant NAS.

Firmware V.42 will be in the next nightly build. This fixes a
significant reproducible bug, which was the problem with volume control
breaking digital inputs while connected to SC.
However, there are a couple other bugs which sound serious, but I can
not reproduce:
1) Problems with sound not
I can't provide you with information on the other bugs, but I am quite
pleased about the release of fw. 42 as I have been experiencing the bug

excess degaussing problem for me. At times, it seemed like it was
doing the degaussing every 10 seconds or so. I'll be happy to switch
