yeah, you are right charlie, that stuck out to me as wrong.
the ALL MAIL folder is just the view of all mail, not dropped into
labels or archived or whatever, its how i just check to seee if
a message im waiting for has shown up withuot navigating
to the label.

Late to this party, but ditto on the previous responses. I have outlook
connected to gmail via IMAP. The only reason I even have Outlook on the
system anymore is for contacts (I just don't care for Google's Contact
Manager).
My wife and I use Google calendar. My outlook syncs with my calendar (
gmail has offline access now . ?
