I am having a similar problem. I bought a combination tach/instrument gauge
from OPG. I am also installing the Pqinless Wiring system on my 69 Chevelle.
The issue I am having is that OPG and Painless wiring cannot tell me which
lead, such as pos, neg and sensor goes to which portion on the back

If you are able to get a copy of Cilton's Repair Manuel for 64-77 Chevelle's,
it gives a good describtion as well as a picture of how to check the coil with
a ohm meter. There is also the check of the Module in the distrubutor that Auto
Zone will check for proper functioning.

For the material you're welding, tig would be a much better choice. Also, you
can buy standard coated electrodes and use them like you would a brazing rod,
with a torch. Much easier than mig on something so thin.

Advanced doesn't plate wheels. Have you ever seen chrome powder coat? A place
in Louisville will do it for 50-75 per wheel. I said sand out of habit.

You can use the old adapters that were made to keep your plugs from fouling.
They are the same thread as a common air hose, and of course they will screw
right into the plug hole. Any parts store would have these. They used to be
called "anit-foulers".

According to Mortec, the casting #(14016379) is from a '77-'79 block. The
dipstick is on the passenger side though. I thought that did not happen
until '80.

If you did find a set of caps, couldn't you plastigage them like main caps
to see if they met tolerance? Of course you can't buy under/over size
carrier bearings like you can main bearings, but you could test fit some
replacement caps, couldn't you?

Rick, you will be glad you insulated while building. Use the metal building
type, it will make a difference in keeping your shop cooler. The heat will
make it's way down, especially when your shop has been closed up all day and
you come home to work in it.

Hey Chuck, unless these are original and thereby have original value on your
car, for the money you are talking, you could buy new vortecs for less money

Does anyone have a used but good fuel pressure (carb) regulator they would
like to get rid of? I need a 3 port (supply from pump, supp. to carb.,
return). An example would be a Mallory 4309.
