The numbers of interest would be on the top of the frame rail. Those on the side are the mfg. number and date, the top of the frame rail will have the partial VIN. However, the partial VIN is of no use in determining whether it was born with the SS option or not; a match would only mean the frame

You might check with Advance auto parts.  My "69" was leaking bad and I replaced seals in it only to have it still leak.  Checked Advance online and they carried a replacement steering box. The other parts stores might carry them too ( NAPA ,PEP Boys,Autozone,O'reillys,ect.)  They may carry a ma
