I have a new 4 row core for a 64,65,66 Chevelle that I never used. I had it
put on my tanks and started to install and found that I would have to remove
the spacer from between the radiator and front mounting cross member. Or

It depends one what you have in mind with your car, if you have an original
radiator that you want to keep and do the numbers thing, then have it repaired.
Otherwise I would buy a new radiator, I had one recored a couple years ago and
it cost more to have it repaired than what it would have
A radiator shop can tell you if it is worth fixing. Depends somewhat on how old
it is. If it has a hole that has developed without cause by damage, I would
replace it. I don't see any reason to change to an aluminum radiator.
