EIGRP is an Interior (I)GRP unlike BGP which is an
Exterior Routing Protocol. BGP Autonomous systems need
the AS number to distinguish one from another. EIGRP
on the other hand would normally be running without
any knowledge of other systems EIGRP protocol. It will
normally not interact
The AS number in EIGRP is really more of a routing participation group
identifier. All routers with the same ID will participate in EIGRP. It
has no real relation to the Autonomous System used in BGP and for good
reason. BGP is an exterior routing protocol. As such, you have a group
of ASes

seems you do not need it. But what happen then if you have both IGMP v2 and
