I have a bunch of 3500XL switches thruout my customer's lan.
They are having a problem with unknown mac keep appearing and disappearing
from the network.
I can trace the mac-address of the unknown station by "show mac" from the
swtich CLI.
What's strange is that it appears at one switch, but a min
newer IOS? (long shot)

I have Old Catalyst 3512 clustered in one closet and just rolling out XP
workstations.
I have no problem loging into Windows 2000 Active directory with Win
98&2000.
I also don't have any problems loging into 2K AD with any client(98,2000,XP)
where I have 2950 or 3550 switches.

I am troubleshooting the 3524XL and get the following message at the boot.
C3500XL POST FAILURE: front-end post: GigabitEthernet0/2:

when I manually release/renew the lease from win95/98
machines, it works just fine. It's just not automatic.
The machines at hub site does this automatically without any problems.

I am using MRTG to pull cisco Router's snmp mibs.
On ehternet interface the graph shows the max speed of 1250.0K which is only
1.25 meg
and on Fastthernet is shows as 12.5 megs.
I am wondering why they don't show 10 meg and 100 megs respectively and
starting to suspect how accurate MRTG is.

I thought 802.1Q trunking is only supported on FastEthernet interfaces, not
Ehternet interfaces.
I was able to create 802.1Q trunks on 2610 router with ethernet interface.
Does someone know exactlly what version of IOS support 802.1Q trunks on

I have 750 POP3 email account being fetched by Linux fetchmail and forwarded
to SMTP account in Exchange.
It takes a very long time to go from the top of the .fetchmailrc run control

I am configuring 2620 3DES feature set. On the other side of IPSec is Avaya
VPNet.
I am debugging this and seems as the transform set is configured right.
VPNet is configured as follows:
Encryption: 3DES
Hash: SHA
Diffie-H Group1

I have 2621 trying to bring up IPSec tunnel using 3DES. My ethernet
interface is assigned a public IP and serial is using IP unnumbered to the
ISP.
Default route is set to ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0/0. I do have a firewall

I need some help with site to site vpn between 2610 and Avaya VPNet.
Avaya VPnet is configured correctly with appropriate SA and tunnel endpoint.
I have a router configured as follows.
Ethernet Inetrface has the public IP address assigned to it.
Serial 0/0 is an Frame interface to the inter
t the router to just one 3550 smi with no other
connections, and the entire network crashes.
Has anyone seen a problem like this? Unfortunatelly this network is
24x7x365 facility and I only had 10 minutes to troubleshoot the problem.
I could use some input on this.
