Cisco's "layer 3 switching", simply put, refers to all routing processes
except process switching (conventional routing with CPU). Namely, any
routing process without CPU's intervention is considered "layer 3
switching". This has nothing to do with frames (layer 2) obviously.

to
troubleshoot the problem, because I couldn't ping anything from the router,
although the switch LEDs seem okay. I had to restart the firewall, and
clear the arp-cache on the router.

with about 80 to 90 commands to choose from. So in a sense, CCNP v2 is easier than v1 because you don't have to committ to memory all the IOS commands. Passing score is also lower in v2.
Cheers good luck!

That's because there are more than one equal-cost next hops. You see three
round-trip times because the packets with the same TTL were send out three
times. If you look at your hop 3, you can see that it responded three
times.

Title: RE: ISDN
Hi Peter,
Looking at the show command, there is no layer 3 call. If your BRI interface gets assigned an IP address by the called router, then you won't be able to pin the BRI IP address until an ISDN call is made (and IP assigned).
