I just got the sound card working, I installed ALSA, and ran the commands
modprobe snd-card-als100
modprobe snd-pcm-oss
Then I ran a mixer to turn on the volume.
Now can anybody tell me what lines to add to conf.modules to make this
happen when I run `sound start`?

The module name needed for the sound is sb.o, so maybe something like:

rmmod ide-scsi and rmmod usb-storage and then modprobe ide-scsi and modprobe
usb-storage and mount /dev/zip /mnt/zip. and it works!

back end as it tried to get a dhcp address for the crypto stuff.
Apparently, the install program is trying to start dhcpcd from /sbin. The
only problem with this is that, during the install, dhcpcd is in

I use a Soyo mobo with an HPT366 chip. If I use -d1 with or without an -X
option, the system locks up. I figured that that's just the way it's going
to be, so I took out the -d1 switch from mandrake_everytime and I've had no

and 0 I dont use my floppy drive for anything other than an install boot

I got a surprise a few weeks ago after fitting a Soltek SL67JV
motherboard (after rejecting two other motherboards). This one is
good, except for a very fast time-of-day clock, which does not
matter, since my time is set from ntp on bootup, and ad hoc
subsequently.
