Thank you very much! I am a little confused, though. Where should I

click the start button on the control panel it fades out and then after
a while it comes back on. I tried one of the older beta versons and it
started but I switched back to 5.4.1 because it shut down too much.

the case.
Looking in the asx file, the stream is actually the following url. If you are on windows try putting the following into the Radio
Url box on the Internet

either can or cannot read the drive because the operating system either

however, look into AlienBBC which is designed to deal with real audio

Do the files have correct tags? If so, the file names shouldn't matter
much. IIRC (please correct me if I'm wrong) Slimserver only falls back
to filenames when tags don't exist.

Last night I reverted back to the 5.4.0 release. It's the *only*
release I've seen that is stable on XP SP2. I've tried almost every
one and all the 6.x releases.
I haven't almost give up on slimdevices, just running the slimserver
on XP. I feel like they just don't have a happy marriage so I was
wipe cache is located in server settings->performance
it should only be used as last resort since it triggers a complete rescan of
everything from an empty database.

I received my SB2 from broadbandstuff a couple of days ago and hadn't
tried the headphone socket until I read this thread. I only get the
left channel unless I jiggle the plug. I too will miss the little
beasty - unless they could send me a replacement in advance :-)

Anybody know what is up here? The SB won’t play files
on the Itunes playlists. The playlists are populated correctly, but the SB
reports it can’t open the file.

To clear play list from remote press the back arrow (<) on the remote
Until it will not go back any more. Then scroll to the now playing and
press the + button and it will clear the current play list. I'm pretty
sure you have to use the back arrow and not the now playing button for
this to work.
Andrew, for this to work you need to enter a "," in the "Multiple
Items In Tags" field under "Behavior" in "Sever Settings" I would not
recommend using a "," though as it is a common character in tags. I
use a bullet "•" myself. Some peolpe have mentioned using "+" and the
description in SlimServer

I think if you had a universal remote, you could program a macro to do it.
I think the consensus is that, when you power on, it will be paused.
If at that point you just ignore the current playlist and go find what
you're looking to hear, and press 'Play' that's all you have to do.

I ordered mine from Multitask on 21st March and believe that I will get
my SB2 in the batch supposedly to arrive in the UK next week. Bit of a
pity that :-(

The playlist is beautifully done in this device, I love how it
remembers the last one played, even if the device is switched off (and
the computer powered down).

on the platinum cases. Don't expect anything for at least a month.

You can just run slim.exe (in the 'server' subdirectory) from the
command line or scheduler etc.

reconnected it crashed the Service on the server. I see if I can
get a log file it may take some doing as I haven't been able to
