I'm in the process of renovating my two-story house (built in 1907), and
I'm trying to design a multi-zone whole-house audio system. I'd like to
get some feedback on my plans outlined below.

Certainly I agree it's worth taking out the WEP security, that's one
more think to complicate the issue. In my case, I had to get a firmware

Highbitrate mp3 will still sound pretty good on your average low-end
hifi, so unless you have a good to high-end system, you may not need to
use FLAC for audiophile reasons.
However, FLAC is a) lossless and b) opensource. Whether that makes it

Reading through the forums it appears that there is a problem with the
latest builds with some routers having issues with WPA.
So I am now back to WEP though I have managed to hide my SSID and put
the MAC filtering on so I ought to be grateful for that.

BTW, I've noticed that the windows system tray icon for showing network
activity is heavily biased. Very low but steady activity levels make it
shine bright, as if megabytes per second were being transferred.
A better tool would be the performance monitor.

FYI, before I got the A23, I had an AudioSource Amp Two for 7 years. I
had problems with the speaker terminals, which were not 5-way, so I had
to live with the audio dropping out every so often. Other than that, it
