Hi all,
I am trying to remotely stream my music to my work PC. I am using
Winamp on WinXP, with the FLAC plugin - MP3 streaming works fine, but
FLAC does not - Winamp keeps showing the buffer filling then emptying.

and drop it in the bin directory for slimserver and restart slim.

The bug report was too complex for me to negotiate, but I did read what

To enable bitrate limiting, use Player Settings for the desired player
- Audio - LAME Quality Level and Bitrate Limiting sections near the
bottom. Try the highest bitrate setting to start, then work your way

My Slim software has been running happily for 19 days (ever since the
server has been up). Yet today it has crashed 6 times! I've tried a
restart of the whole machine, no joy.
I've enabled logging, and this is what I see:

- you can't stream FLAC (or anything except mp3) from slimserver to a
non-slim client (e.g. Winamp or iTunes). That doesn't mean you can't
play FLAC files, just that you must have lame setup (as described
above) so the files c
The 360 does something odd with UPnP, sending out a weird URL that
confuses Slimserver. It has been fixed (I think in 6.3.1). Perhaps
something else on your network is doing something similar.

installed Vista Beta 2 onto a spare PC, and that's switched on and on

Don't touch server settings. These are global and will affect all
players. Keep the FLAC - FLAC (built-in) box checked.
When you play a stream over Wwinamp, you should see a new player
identified by IP address first. Then go to that player in Player
Settings - Audio.

and MP3 from Winamp?

Just got my Squeezebox v3 and it's an amazing little device :)
But now it seems I'm having problems playing anything at all. Whenever
I start playing a song I have the following problems:
1) Sometimes the song doesn't start at all and the squeezebox
restarts.
2) When a song starts I can hea

When I press certain buttons on my Squeeze remote (specifically, volume
controls and "Play" button) it causes the drawer on my DVD player to
open and close with every press!
Obviously this is some kind of conflict on the IR

Seems there is only 2 networks here. Mine and another one. Unfortunately
we're both on channel 11 so I'll change mine. Shouldn't make much
difference regarding my problems since I've tested 3 different channels
today and Sueezy behaves exactly the same way.

You can still have slimserver running on the qnap, just have it able to
see the router (and thus the internet) so you can play radio through
it. The PC doesn't have to be involved at all if you don't want it to.

Could not stand it anymore. So I uninstalled, deleted all traces of
slimserver, and then installed the latest 6.5 nightly. Wanted to test

According to the instructions if I press and hold the skip forward or
backward button I should be able fast forward or backward. This no
longer works. I don't use this feature often but I do remember using it
a few months ago and I can't imagine why it no longer works. Any ideas?

means mp3, wav, FLAC, wma(lossy). Ogg is also native, but currently
has a bug that prevents ffwd/rew.

i too have a sb2 and my ff(within a song) and rr on my remote don't work
either. most of my music is in flac files and it doesn't work with any
of these files. I also remember ff and rr working a few months ago but
it hasn't worked for some time.
