I haven't used my SB1 for some time now but from what I can recall the behaviour you are seeing is quite normal. The buffer in the SB1 is much smaller than the SB2/3 and is of the order of a few seconds of music for flac (which will be transcoded to wav), probably 10 times that for mp3. This
