bought a Duet, and like Jannock I have set-up Squeezecenter onto my
QNAP NAS (TS-109II). However, I set-up my controller and receiver
*before* I installed SC. What I found was that it seemed to work fine
with all radio stations,
Jannock's problem has been fixed - it was an issue with SlimNAS. SlimNAS
is not applicable to QNAP so you have a different problem.
If you are using SSODS on QNAP - there is an SSODS bug fix for

For single zone auto-sensing amps, a few good options are the
AudioSource 100, AudioSource 200, and Parasound Zamp. Also, the Sonic
Impact T amps are not auto-sensing, but draw so little power when
idling that they may as well be auto-sensing.
As for concentrating the SB Receivers in one place
Try Michael Herger's MusicInfoScreen plugin. I think that the enhanced
(or whatever he calls it) volume display is in db.

While there are reasons for preferring a centralized system, a big
negative is sound quality. You can hear an obvious difference on even
cheap equipment.
I think that the smaller Tripath based amps in particular are likely to
sound crappy with very long speaker runs (and I'm a fan in general).

I do buy quite a few CDs from Amazon, and have also done MP3s. Their
downloads are at 256kbps without any DRM, so they play with SC very
well. I usually buy MP3s of music that may be 'restored' classics,
like Billie Holiday, Mel Torme, Frank Sinatra's mega compilations from
Capitol, etc.
