While there are reasons for preferring a centralized system, a big negative is sound quality. You can hear an obvious difference on even cheap equipment. I think that the smaller Tripath based amps in particular are likely to sound crappy with very long speaker runs (and I'm a fan in general).

Yeah, I didnt say Duet was unusable.. pardon the analogy, but its like the difference between driving my commute car and decked out sports car. I knew about the thing in development, but I didnt expect they would take out functionality before without having the new one to take it's place.
