without any Sonos supplied server s/w. I don't think that the Sonos
h/w has been updated lately so it might be possible to raise the limits
of the Sonos units.
So I think this sort of fat client architecture is viable.

The Sonos remote allows for displaying 9 or 10 lines in addition to the
menu and status lines at the top and bottom. That gives you a much
better view into your files than a single line on the SB remote.
I can't imagine preferring a 2 line display to a 11-12 line display.

it the way it is and are not sympathetic to suggestions that the system
is lacking. It is a different architecture that might fit you or it
might not.

get the tags right before I start
ripping a CD. (I compared 6 WAV files made by EAC and Media Center 11
and found them to be identical so quality doesn't seem to be an issue.)
It is still a long process to riop and tag a large collection but it
seems doable to me.

tags are probably in the iTunes database rather than in the WAV file.

SS software. An F in Database 101. Assume that a field you don't
control will be unique.
As the market progresses, more users will want to use music files they
already have and not be sensitive to what's in the tags. A recipe for

natural understanding of what an opera listener would want to do.
The way I'd thought of which might address this - its come up
