A CPU reboot got me further along, but I still have an "unexpected" scan
termination. Maybe this is more "form over substance" though?

Anyway I guess it doesn't matter too much as long as it doesn't start
doing it too frequently. I was just a bit surprised that it happened

Tell your antivirus program to ignore *.myi and *.myd files - do you
have McAfee or Norton installed by any chance? It looks as if it's
causing the scan to fail and not updating the RescanTime as a result.

One way to fix it I think is to give all those albums a compilation tag
in mp3tag. Once you have mp3tag so it sees that tag just have it add a
1 in the tag for all your albums you want. Then in the setting in

Unfortunately, you cannot directly deal with the perl58 problem as the
scanner.exe file is a pre-packaged perl application.
Installing ActivePerl from ActiveState.com will allow you to run
slimserver.pl and scanner.pl manually. That might avoid the crash.

Now, I clear and scan and it tells me that it is scanning the library,
but when I go to look at, say, Artists, there is nothing there. In

I have a reasonably large library of tracks...about 5000.. some ogg
(encoded from a main library of flac files) and some mp3. Up to now I
havent bothered sorting them in any Hierarchy directory structure
(artist/title/track) other than one for mp3/.. and one ogg/.. as both
