perfectly. I'll keep it. Plus I also now understand what was meant when

yes, that's how the "material skin" controller works. On the device, on
a webbrowser, enter:

player on the controller. Or take an old smartphone connected to your
network via WIFI and use a smartphone app controller. This could be as
simple as using "material skin" on the smart phone, or using a phone
specific app
What remote? If its the Topping remote, then it's only for the Topping
E30, I found after the initial setup I have not used it.
I use a Duet Controller. I found there was nothing to configure or setup
though. I only had to apply power to the docking station!

These are the ones farthest away from the ethernet port. The blue ones
next to ethernet port are USB3. Don't use these.

It's not clear from your photos whether you got network access when
booting the Pi with Raspbian.
I see the words "reached target network", but don't see the expected "IP
address is ..." message.

I obtained a micro HDMI cable and connected my Raspberry Pi 4 to a
monitor. I tried connecting with SD card burned with PiCorePlayer, also
with Raspberry Lite on SD, also tried connecting with no SD card in the

So far it looks like you're on the correct path, you've imaged - your
directory listing looks OK, so now it's either booted up OK and you
can't find its IP address in your router or it's not booting up
properly/or able to join your network. So

Building a piCorePlayer should not take more that 10 minutes.
Unfortunately you are putting in "heaps of effort" and getting nowhere.
Building a piCorePlayer is really simple and most of us are can build
them blind, ie.
If you attach the SD card you burned to your laptop, what are it's
contents, it should look something like this.

First of all the Pi needs to be connected to your network by being
connected (wired) to a network port on your router, *not* directly wired
to your PC.

You'll see in the web interface a lot of settings have a "Save" button
either beneath the setting or at the bottom of a section of settings.
