I've said it before and I'll say it again...seeing a triple bill last summer
of Creedence, STYX and the Doobies ranks up there to me as the best total
night of music I've seen with the band. But I think my favorite double-bill
was the Farewell Tour, with the Doobs playing both halves sandwiched
I made an interesting discovery today on e-bay, looking for Doobies stuff.
There is an Australia-only release of the band's music. I got all excited
when I saw a few unfamaliar song titles until I thought them through a
little bit longer. Take a look at this list of album tracks. Can you figure
China Grove is featured in the upcoming movie "Joe Dirt." It also was in the
movie "Field of Dreams." Has it been in any other Hollywood offerings?

On the Dave Letterman Late Show website, they have a weekly contest for
people to submit top ten entries for a selected category. This week's list
was "Top Ten Least-Popular Exhibits At The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame."
Fortunately, the Doobies didn't make this list, either.

It was no great surprise...probably even from the start of this crazy
concept of Doobie Brothers Survivor. Tthe votes are in for the final round
of voting and by a whopping 3-to-1 margin, "The Captain and Me" is the final
Doobie album survivor. 15 votes were cast for Vices, 5 for the Captain.

One of the criticisms leveled by the nattering nabobs of negativism who
spark these list controversies is that they just want to talk about the
music. Yet, their negative attitude runs 10-degrees opposed to the total
optimism delivered in each Doobies song.

Those Steely Dan guys are very witty. If you ever get the chance to see
their "Storytellers" special of VH1, make sure to watch. The between-songs

headphones to get the optium effect of how the songs are broken down

First off, the release of the new CD on Tuesday.
Then last night on West Wing, the band gets a pretty cool mention. In a
flashback to the presidential campaign, they're showing a victory party
following one of the primaries. Kool and the Gang's "Celebration" is
