I finally got around to downloading and trying KS7D Mike's
K3 Filter Tools program.
I had previously measured the response of one of my filters
by manually sweeping the K3 VFO across the XG-2's
50 microvolt signal and writing down the AFV outputs
from the K3 display. Then I discovered that
What happened to the 5-pole and 8-pole filter plots on the Elecraft web
site? I can't seem to find them anymore.
Any ideas where I might look?

I recommend Mike's program to anyone interested in their K3's filter
response. It's relatively simple to use and will give you a good view of
the first 60 to 70 dB of the filter response.

I fixed the problems related to PTT and the program not releasing the
serial port in some cases. You can download the updated program from

After, only 12. I had to restore an earlier K3 configuration file to
restore it. There might have been other K3 changes also that I
corrected by this config restore without even knowing they had
occurred, so other users sho

I am currently sweeping my 2.7kHz filter but I expect the limit will be the
phase noise of the synth. I may try using my 10MHz reference instead. I

Just to thank you for the very useful software.
A very clever procedure around the K3!
I open the saved *.txt file in Excel and substract the central
frequency to get a +/- frequency scale display and
set the attenuation scale with 6 dB grid to get
easily the -6 dB and -60 dB points.
Does this program generate plots for both main and sub rx?
