Is there a hal to usb component? We are making a a tool changer board that
will take commands via usb. Do I need to have a python or c module that will
interface hal commands to it or can I issue tool change commands directly over
usb from hal in some way?

I have 2 Hurco mills - 1 I plan to retrofit to LinuxCNC the other I hope to get
running on the OEM control.
What I would like to do is take the control I tear out for the retrofit and fix
its issues and get it running on the bench with an emulator.
Basically I would need a box to accept 3 axis

Hmm a google search fails me trying to find a Matson knee mill. What

Jeremy,
You should be pretty close to Central Ozark. Is it still running after
Jerry died?
My shop in Missouri is north of you on 19. EMI is in Eminence.
Guys,
19 north out of Alton is the closest thing to a rollercoaster I have ever
driven on.
Would be super fun on a bike.
