Bob and Tim,

Thanks for all the suggestions, in this case I am not looking to use it with
PowerSDR, it is for another project with a Winradio G305. I am looking to
try and improve the VHF/UHF sensitivity, I currently own a Firebox, FA-66
and Delta 44 which I use with the SDR1000.
In your expert opinion Albert
Hi,
I am looking for the latest CAT Command dictionary, and I can't find
it on the site. Specifically, I am looking for a CAT Command to turn
VAC on and off. There is none in the dictionary I have which is
revised January 3, 2006.

Tim,
I'm afraid the info on N8VB in the kb article "Third-Party CAT Installation"
is out of date. The most recent build 226a includes VComConfigurator. The
info in the manual 1.6.2, starting page 134 is (more?) up to date. Just
thought I'd let you know.
BTW, the kb is proving to be an excellen

I'm interested to get one of those OCXO modules that Alan K2WS developed.
He told me there is a minimum of 10 orders required from Bliley (OCXO's
manufacturer).
In order to shorten the waiting time I'm willing to order the 10 units but I
will like to know first if some one else is interested to d
Andy,
the suggestion given by Jim Lux is a sound one. If you are worried more by
raw sensitivity as opposed to dynamic
range, then a good low-noise preamplifier can do miracles.
In any case, the answer to your question "would I get as much as 3dB
sensitivity improvement" is "probably yes",

item #290031197853)and I was planning to use a X2 multiplier or divide it down
to a supported frequency and let the pll multiply back to 200 Mhz. It seems
that I can use the oscillator output directly. I´ll test it as time permits.

I'm not sure whether his program will handle that or not. I think Phil
would have to comment on that.

Can you explain what part of it is no longer working? We used Beta v1.6.3
at Pacificon this weekend, so I can say for sure that the playback is
working as intended.

No, vCOM only can create virtual port pairs. With a little
programming it is easy enough to create a virtual to hardware serial
bridge similar to the TCP/IP to serial bridge on my website. Or, you
could run two instances of the TCP/IP to serial bridge on the same
computer and link the virtual por

Actually, there is not much in the Flex-Radio SDR-1000 for the rf to get
to. I have found that the computer system and its peripherals, mouse,
keyboard etc. have been the major culprits. I had to relocate the 40M
antenna away from the shack in another more distant part of the attic to

I had real good luck with the T4 Radio Works Line Isolators (page 7 of
their catalog http://www.radioworks.com/Catalog2006web.pdf). I am sure
there are others that would work fine too.

Yes, Jim, so it is!
In my case one common mode choke was not enough. I tried two cokes
first at the radio end and then at the computer end. The best result
was with one choke at both ends.
I run a 500 ft loop just out of my second story bedroom window. When I
fired up my 3.5w 20m Firefly SDR, my Presonus Firebox would very quickly
error out and die. Only 3.5 watts! I had several of the snap on common
chokes on hand, so I placed one on the audio cable near the sound card

Thanks to the boys at Flex-radio, I sent the radio in for repairs
last Wednesday evening via UPS, and was stunned to see the radio
repaired and back here Friday afternoon. What a turnaround.
I had good success using the SDR-1000 and JT65B running on the same
computer during the EME contest, and
