I like your shielded loop
dea of the upconverting general-coverage

stages that all had to be matched for gain and dynamic range. That and bad
PLLs didn't help. I still love the old single-conversion receivers with
tunable front-ends, at least for
ion of the offending signal might
be enough to make the receiver start to act linearly again.

One last thing -- don't overlook the possibility of using a high-Q antenna

But then again, i

I have folded this into the FlexRadioWiki under Running PowerSDR.

increasing buffer size. You will get the same filter performance if you cut
sample rate in half and cut DSP buffer size in half too. If you are looking
for the ultimate in filter performance, set sample rate to 48kHz and then
set DSP RX buffer size to 4096 samples.
Does this help?

settings and the sample rate. The transfer buffer sizes used by the firewire
driver and VAC have no effect on filter performance as they are just used to
determine how much gets transferred from the firewire driver to PowerSDR or
from PowerSDR to the digital mode program in a single operation.

If thinking of using Bluetooth be sure to consider that this is a

If there are any walls in the way that range is reduced. I would not bet on

So extra USB connections is not just a Flex PowerSDR problem, it can be a
general Windows problem too.

It should work. Certainly the secondary PTT input to the F1500 is cleaner

Flex did something like that. But it sure isn't standard.
What would you do if you were using a Yaecomwood?

And I agree, Gig-E is preferred over either USB or Firewire.
the same time on my Mac over the firewire interface.
But that does point out an orthogonal issue: Apple seems to know how to make
IEEE1394 work better than Microsoft does. It sure would be nice if PSDR or
something like it ran on MacOS. (Wink wink, nudge nudge.)

y is an
emitter, especially when it is in the near-field pattern for the antenna
(such as my operation in Dominica). The computer itself is a source you just
can't eliminate.
OTOH, I have found that wrapping the display completely in aluminum foil
makes all noise sources disappear.

And then there is the charge controller for the PV/battery system. That one
makes sharp spectral lines as does the power supply in the ethernet switch.
We live in a noisy world.
