I appreciate all of the good suggestions and this weekend I will try the following: 1. Neal's suggestion: Turn off Windows Search in Windows 7 and modify the Windows Update to do not check all. It does seem as if another process is periodically working and causing a delay in the cw processing.

Tim, I left out some information on my original post (sent the wrong version of the two I wrote). To test things out I transmitted into a dummy load, 0 watts, and sent a string of dits. Sporadically, and not in a regular pattern, their are pauses. When sending cw, these sporadic pauses throw

I just want to report back to the group that I have solved the problem with a noisy display on MixW with the help of Tim Ellison. It turned out that the PowerSDR and MixW CAT interface were setup with different baud rates (imagine that!). I discovered the problem after creating a new database.
