The 3000 requires firewire, which many netbooks don't have. I am in a
similar situation. Also, the 1500 is just fine as is for qrp operation. So
the amplifier thoughts are for planning purposes.

Many people have had RF problems with the Flex that they didn't have with
non SDR's.
A few chokes and a new firewire cable solved mine and the radio and speakers
now sit on top
of my SPE Linear. This subject has been debated over and over.

If I blow an external 30 amp fuse I am going to open up the radio anyways to
see what's going on.
The bunches of radios and brick amplifiers in my shack were all provided
with in-line fused cables or circuit breakers except for the 5000A.

When I first start PowerSDR and select CW mode, it automatically keys
down. I have to shut PowerSDR down and then start it back up and then
all is well. I am using version1.18.5 but it did the same on all
previous versions. I have break In enabled and Iambic not selected.

with the QSK and the poor Auto Notch,
although I've not played with the ANF settings yet as I'm not sure I
fully understand them, more reading required.
I must say that the F3K is much better at pulling out the weak CW
signals than either my FT1000MP or Tentec Omni VI ever were!

Eric or some of the other developers could take a quick look, I'd appreciate
it.
I suspect there are some issues related to IF offset with the display/tuning
operating this way, but, for me, it sure is handy in most circumstances.

and the left side of the display fills with out-of-band
frequencies that you don't really care about. It'd be nice to be able to
keep the CW section of the band on the display and have the passband
indicator move when tuning.
