Dear listers,
This is the second time I've had to email NewerTech support about
replacing a battery, in the past month, but I'm starting to wonder
if it's not my Lombard that's causing my battery problems, instead
of the batteries themselves. I know the charging board is good on
it, AFAIK,
I dont know why, but I have had _zero_ luck bringing any third
party WS or lombard batteries back to life. BTI or Newertech.
Well, I called NewerTech and they think it's a bad PMU, but I still
want a second opinion. They did say that they could get approval for
another replacement, if I
receive a confirmation email

I would also suggest that you charge the battery for at leas 24hr with the
Lombard turned off. I know that is hard if it is your only Mac, but I
believe you will have much better luck by not using it until the battery is
charged.

Use either Klear Screen or HoodWipes, which were designed for cleaning the
screen and the HoodWipes work wonders on the outside of a laptop also.
Don't be such cheap skates, you get 12 HoodWipes for $11 and on my Pismo the

People have written that some newer drives (ATA6) are not compatible
with the Pismo. What is the symptom of these drives when they don't
negotiatid to ATA5?

If you mean the built-in decoder on the 400 MHz models, absolutely. (I
cannot comment on the 300 MHz models).
You may need to use PatchBurn if you have updated your media bay to
include a CD/DVD-ROM-R-R/W drive.

I have a wallstreet that has developed a problem It boots ok and long as
you don't touch the screen everything is fine but if I touch or move the
screen the whole thing turns off. Like throwing a switch it just cuts
off.
