that DB2 for z/VM runs in a CMS based environment, which is 31-bit,
while the zLinux environment is 64-bit. I believe DB2 for zLinux is also
64-bit capable, allowing bigger databases in storage, etc.

1) it should support all of the components of z/VM and not just CP.

The file you are trying to send is not too big, its record length
exceeds what the PUNCH command supports. The maximum record length for
the PUNCH command is 80 bytes. If what you are trying to send to z/OS
(via RSCS) is a JCL file, make sure its lrecl is 80 and its recfm is fixed.

Are you sure that IPv6 requires the VSWITCH to be in ETHERNET mode?

for 4-5 z/OS guests and not the entire 30-40 systems.
Also, as DB has suggested, bitch to IBM about why z/OS doesn't support
