I personally waited to get windows 10 until I bought a new laptop and didn't have a choice if I wanted an inexpensive laptop. I have windows 10 on my personal laptop and windows 7 on my work laptop. I would stick with windows 7 until you don't have a choice. You could put Jaws on your wife's PC
