N424DG is no longer a hanger Queen! I want to thank Ed Stepec, a fellow EAAer and former KR Owner. He did the taxi testing and flew the first flight of N424DG this evening. from the ground it was a perfect take off and a perfect landing. It was a short flight, only 10 minutes but he

Thanks to Bernie Wunder for this video of the First Flight of N6242. The actual flight date was March 23, 2013, not as stated in the video. To bad I managed to bend the nose gear. There were issues, but PIO was the main culprit. Fixes are in work and the plane will soon fly again. Yeee Haaa!

On the first flight the elevator trim tab Nyrod sheath anchor point broke loose and moved the trim tab to the full nose up position resulting in near loss of control. Epoxy does not stick to well to plastic surfaces. For the fix: I installed an aluminum angle to support an Adel cushion clamp.

On the first flight, 3/23/13, moments after lift off, the elevator trim jumped to Full Nose Up. Trim control in the cockpit was non-responsive. I had to hold firm forward pressure on the stick to maintain level flight with the stick position about neutral. The bounced landing bent the nose
