Ahem!
Just a small correction, Francois.
It was me who wrote the manual, not Jacques.

Initrd module configuration is available on lrcfg.
From the lrcfg main menu, choose
3 - Packages configuration
1 - initrd
2 - modules to load before any other package
Add the modules in the correct order, without the .o extension.
Then you should exit lrcfg,
copy all the needed modules to

Almost surely NO. Normally, your IP address is assigned as part of the ppp
handshaking process, not after that
Still, you are correct.
There is no ready made file on the website.
One could create the file by hand, using the two floppies setup,
as described in other Bering user manual.

So, should I use a second floppy drive or do have other proposals ?
And: how do I get( or install resp.) an lpr daemon ?

I don't doubt that it is in YOUR menu system.
It just isn't in MINE. Probably due to some RC2 initrd backup bug that I

I posted my instructions even though I knew this, because I think being

Hi Craig,
I ran into the same problem. When you copy the file over, just use the
full name (and btw, it's ide-probe-mod.o):
cp ide-pr~1.o /boot/lib/modules/ide-probe-mod.o
Oh, and another tip, when experimenting I use CD-RWs. This has saved
me MANY headaches and bad cd-r's ;).
