The alternate network connection may not work for this.
That is so you don't use the APIPA addresses if you can't connect to a DHCP
server.
Are you admin on your laptop? If you are then there is stuff you can do.
Google search for the NETSH command, there are some BATch file examples on
changing

Well, I haven't made the leap to XP yet, but earlier versions of 'doze
had the ability to manually enter DNS servers, or to get them via DHCP.
In Win2K, this is in networ
OK _ I think I started something here.I am using the alternate IP

I have DHCP working on both networks. Here is the output of ipconfig/all on

In 2.4.18/net you will find contib driver, most
To run this command you want to go to "start" > "run". Type "cmd" hit enter.
You get a dos screen. At the command prompt type "ipconfig /all". This
will give you the info about your network interfaces.
To relese and then renew type "ipconfig /release" and then "ipconfig
/renew".

I already got that request from some users (kpk among others): the idea was
to create an "update" package.

One Question, is there an easy way to upgrade from
rc3 to rc4 without having to redo all my custom configs on rc3?

Another way to do this is with an IPSec gateway. This would bridge the two
networks and make it very similar to sending an email from within your
network at work. However this becomes a little more detailed, esp. if you
don't have access to the servers at work.

I have a fully working network using DHCP, Dachstein 1.02 two floppy
version.
Work just gave me a laptop with WinXP installed. In the documents, I see
where you can have two ip stacks and WinXP will use the correct stack.
Problem is work and home networks use DHCP, work also uses WINS with a

Hi James
handling mail services is a bit off topic here, you will get detailed
information concerning mail and DNS on the respective forums, if you get
everything set up you won't have to use an ip address anymore, please don't
forget the open relay topic.
Have fun

This is somewhat off-topic. I am just looking for some general guidance. I
know just enough about this stuff to be dangerous.
I've got Dachstein boxes at home and at work, both with cable connections
and 192.168.1.x networks behind them. I run fetchmail, procmail, postfix
and IMAP on the office
Thank you to all the people that were helping me out setting up my

needed. VPN

I have an exell file that describes just about everything in that list.
I used that list and ran it through freshmeat & sourceforge.
The exell file was imported into the cvs descriptions.
I don't know the exact link for cvs anymore though.
Mike, care the fill in the blank?? Thanks
