because they agree to! - they don't have to, but sometimes they choose to
go public. Perhapsthe buying club makes public an offer - or the player's
agent publishes an offer in a bid to drum up a better one, etc.
I think it's surprising that the US has tight regulations like that. I think if
similar regs were put in place with football, it would solve a lot of problems
we have with liars like Bates.

No, it would be excellent. But I don't see how it would affect Bates. He's
not breaking the bank on transfers or wages.
There's still enough areas of revenue that aren't public...such as TV
contracts, local radio, merchandise, ticket sales, etc but at least we'd know
where we stand with player wages.

Do we not pay this?? Must have been one if the highest in league one. First
season in championship did well. Other than frees and offloads players seem ok.
Not a disaster. Missed out on a few high profile signings but got a £15k a week
