There is none. That is why .dxr is protected. Why would one want to
decompile it anyway? As author of the code You should have an original
.dir file, otherwise the author has protected the file in order to
prevent other people from reading the code and data. There are
possibilities to "unprotect"
I would recommend the datemaster xtra. It is really cheap and offers You
everything You want: checking if a date is valid, day of week etc and it
goes back to year zero. It also works with february, 29th.

I don't see a mistake in what YOu have been doing. Did You save properly?
However if You want linked graphics, You don't need an external cast.
Just import to the internal cast and use "linked to external file". Then
Director will import the graphics new every time.

transitions working on macintosh were totally different on PC. You had
to check out what transitions work cross-platform.

in D7, I think there is no solution. You could set the directToStage to
False - then there is no flash, but the VR gets very slow!
In normal linear QT movies ist was a workaround to export the first
frame of a movie and put it behind the movie - the movie would still
flash but You won't

I have several MIAWS with and without scripts. Only one script is common, that
is at the end of every miaw: "tell the stage to advanceshow". It calls the
handler advanceshow-that works.
I tried a workaround:
mymiaw.filename=the newFilename
That changes the filename but not the movie p
That seems a good idea, but the miaw is switching the movies. I can not detect any
error with this.

maybe I don't understand You, but I have a kind of master movie that tells
the miaw to switch the movies displayed on another screen. The master movie
still stays active,it's still there, it works, it just exits the handler
after calling the miaw.

All lingo after the tell command is simply not executed. Is that normal

Then certainly yes. Look at the help files concerning digital video
sprites / quicktime 3. There are several ways to this. If You have

cacheDocVerify #always
to your code - then Director will always look for a newer file or just clear
the cache with:
clearCache
