There is a script that gets executed when a card is inserted. Based
on some rules, it determines, from the card ID, what drivers would
be needed to access the card.
I think the PCMCIA hardware has been identified. It also seems that you
have put a card in slot 1. It is a mamory card of some sort.

I'm no guru and get a lot of help from your posts in fact. But, I had
to go to /etc/pcmcia and manually edit config and put the right module
for my pcmcia card. It was yes a NIC card which SuSE had as axnet_cs
that would give me that hi beep/low dud. I changed the card, a SMC8040TX
to pcn

Ok, I have the same here. I went through the step by steps again and found
that I missed the step of verifying that it detects the usb mouse when
plugged in. It does detect it but gives errors. It does not accept the
address assigned to it.
usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=4 (error=-
A local computer shop (one who regularly attends the MarketPro computer
shows on the US East Coast) is selling a Lite-On 24x IDE for $105. I'm
going with it.

My problem with SO 5.2 is that you layout everything their way
not your way. They also have no real wa turn formating & layouts off.
