Mmm, this is getting rather OT for LTSP. Could you guys take this to
some other forum please? My take on the situation is that there are
heaps of alternatives to RH, and the GPLed source remains GPL, so it's
not a monopoly situation.

Hi Daniel,
Your actual problem was that you did not know what you
are looking at . When I first visited the website I knew what it was
all about.
You needed to have learned a little more about linux and diskless nodes.
The website may not be the best site but I had no problem at all.

Is there any more information about this?
The offer for the server and any other necessary hardware from us is
still on the table. We're in New Rochelle, NY, which is just north of

Would you recommend that others (who're interested in certification)

Can you tell if the request is being received by tftpd and the image is

Try Gentoo Linux (http://www.gentoo.org). It comes at the cost of
downloading two ISOs and roasting them onto a CD-R. After that you
install and upgrade packages whenever you feel like it over the

Ken,
I know for certain that they are using LTSP at the telecentros.
Last I heard, they have 72 centers with 20 workstations in each.
I met several of the poeple involved with Telecentros when I was
in Brazil back in June.

Hello Stephane,
Here's what happens:
The server has an X server of its own. It is its
config that you find in /etc/X11.
The /opt/ltsp/i386/etc tree doesn't have a ready-made
XF86Config-4 file. It would prevent usage of different
hardware in one system. Instead, a new XF86Config-4 is
