Little more thorough message:I'm not sitting at my Ubuntu machine right now, but I seem to remember that the tftpd default path to /tftpboot is wrong. The the kernel is installed elsewhere mayby /var/lib/lts or something. Check it out :-)

System sounds and Flash worked once I followed the Wiki instructi

device and vendor
- download the ltsp_initrd_kit
- yank a tg3-line in the 'niclist' and replace the device an vendor ID
- rebuild the initrd and replace the 'old' initrd.
It worked for me.

I am trying to get a laptop with a wireless PCMCIA card working as an X
terminal with absolutely no success so far. The old LTSP wireless
package doesn't work on my laptops and since there isn't an up-to-date
wireless package, I thought I would try making my own.

very well with LTSP clients booting off the network.
Unfortunately, if I try to log into the same server with an X terminal
that is not sound-enabled (eg Hummingbird Exceed running on an XP box)

First, an explanation - I have a user 'ws000' which is not used by anyone, it's just
the one I use to configure the default settings for other users.
My makeuser script takes a user as a parameter, so I run sh makeuser.sh ws001 for
