Make is your friend. I collaborate on dropbox with make-unfriendly computer-unsavvy people, make is not an option - and this is not such an uncommon case I guess! Instead, an _editable_ file format that __guarantees__ you have all is needed to compile the file is a haven for data integrity

The critical thing is that the encoding match the encoding of the output LaTeX file. I also was finally able to match encodings... It seems that LyX UTF8 and utf8 are different and that only this last one matches JabRef's UTF8... Go figure! Thanks, Roberto -- Ro
