Concepts do go across both platforms but then those little inconsistencies bug me. In text editors and the like, you have your good old command x cut but in finder, you have to use copy command c and then move at the other end with command option v. Why?! As far as I know Command X isn't used. W

Honestly, I like VLC more than most other media players. It's so much better on Mac than on PC. The cost is brilliant as well. :-) I really don't like programs that forcibly add anything I listen to to my library. There's stuff I want to listen to and then discard or keep archived so add this

You should be able to convert them to mp3 once you pull them into iTunes. I put some stuff up on this list about how to do that back in 2009. Let me paste it again here: The XiphQT only gives flac playback capability. I added the flac_import component and was able to open and play a flac file.

VLC as far as I know is only a media player, not converter. It certainly plays .ogg files. I use Amadeus pro for most conversions but that's an expensive tool for just doing that. I just installed a cheep app the other day called RightClickMp3 I can't remember how much it was but it wasn't much.
