Sorry. I'm not following your thread by a while. But I need to ask you if you are using
Linux, you must set right permissions for the user under what SapDB is running.
As sample, I use RedHat 9 and a little modified statup scripts, and looking the
scripts I
see that SapDB is running under sapdb u
Billy,
So, according to the files you sent me, before the database can be
created, it is throwing a -7017, or a User not allowed error.
The output of your dbmsrv file matches pretty much exactly what it
should be, so in my mind that rules out some sort of protocol
incompatibility.
The Solution
Billy,
Also, could you send me the file dbmsrv.prt?
It's located at: C:\Program Files\sdb\data\wrk
Thanks.

Billy,
Could you send me your dbm.utl file? It's located at:
/wrk//dbm.utl
(If you just did the wizard for a windows installation, the path is most
likely: C:\Program Files\sdb\data\wrk\\dbm.utl )

I'm logged in as a local machine administrator & a domain administrator.
Is there some security on a service (ie: XServer) that I need to change to
have a login as instead of it using the default account (localsystem).
Would this security affect the command line utility dbmcli as well?
Thank

Hi Bill,
Not to be too obvious, but how are you starting the installation wizard?
I just tried to replicate your problem by logging on as a
non-administrative user (which will fail, obviously) and running the
wizard. Of course my first attempt failed, but I was surprised to find
that if I logg

Have a look in the knldiag/knldiag.err file and see if you can figure out
what's going wrong (or post it here).

Good Morning;
I've been trying trying to create a new database with the Installation
Wizard in the Database Manager. When I try to create the database, I get to
the last setp and hit the start button. It shows,
Starting the dtabase instance ... OK!
Initializing configuration ... OK!
