Nope...
Only 'music-data' can be transmitted over the S/PDIF link. All the other stuff
(like the UTOC/CD-TEXT etc..) can't.
Cheers,

You don't say if your MD is a deck or a portable.

Well, this sounds like a blasphem to me !
Lol anyway, as standard cassettes (not DCC) are analogic media, there
WILL be a digital/analog conversion somewhere on the signal's way...
The signal will be in stereo, don't worry ! Analog handles stereo

The only way would be via analogue outputs/inputs. Since compact cassette is
not a digital format, there is no way of doing it digitally.
So get behind your MD deck, take the 2 RCA outputs (left and right) and plug
them into the left and right inputs of your tape recorder (assuming it is a

The following mention of a Sony "Rio" type device was mentioned on

Yes, you can probably. It will indeed say that the disc is 80 minutes,
however you may start getting errors after say 78 minutes.
Also, what is the difference between

Link the Line Out on the Minidisc to the Line In on the cassette deck is
probably your best bet. I do this regularly because my Dad hasn;t joined the
20th century yet

Yes, the Sony MZ-R1, but it is not dissimilar to a brick in many ways (large,
combersome and heavy). It is an old unit though, no longer available.

Does anyone have experience with different titling systems for use with
the Sony MDS-JE530. I'd really like to title directly from my PC, but
since Sony changed the IR-signals on the 530, the remotes for the 510

Hi Tugrul
The adaptor you have won't harm the unit in anyway, but it just means that
it will take longer to charge. You might find that your adaptor will get
