purchased and replaced it, and it still tried to lock on me the first time
I used it. SO I removed the NEW lock and have been screwdrivering it

I am a new old MB fan.
Just picked up a 1974 240D Diesel 5sp for $100. After 2 days of buffing and
cleaning, I charged up the battery. The key is stuck in the on position
so I jumped the starter and she runs like a top!
Aside from a little Michigan Rust the car looks pretty good
Mine failed after only two months of being rebuilt. Rusty sent me new parts
and I'm going to tear into it tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what
failed.

The only thing I can think of is that there is a main line check valve that
isn't included in the rebuild kit. It is the valve located at the vacuum
side of the pump. You might as well replace that while you are in there.

for 8 years since I bought one replacement hood star from them. There
engines are supposed to have good warranties. They are only sold as

the value of maintained by anal retentives and I just fuel it up
and change the oil is more than $2k, assuming the suspension, flex

are you certain your float level is set to spec? and that the float valves
open and there are no dead spiders in there (don't ask why I would check
there, but I found a dead one inside the valve once. sounds like low/no
fuel. do the accel pump jets squirt fuel when you open the throttle?
