My cruise control handle/lever came cleanly out of the switch. I tried
putting it back with JB Weld. That held for about 10 pulls on the lever then
came out with the JB attached. It came cleanly off the lever and did not
remain in the switch. It als came off the lever with my nail. Is there
anythin
It is back -- boost at 12 PSI and let me say it is PLENTY. It is a rocket.
Boy, did I miss the turbo. It is hard to believe how much the turbo helps
these motors.
At least we know that 12 PSI is okay- and the lesson learned is that the ECU
can shut down and cut boost if ONE of the transducer

Are you sure your S350 is putting out normal power? It should NOT be
sluggish in city driving, due to the torque and (relatively) decent
axle ratio. If you clock it 0-60mph, factory spec is approximately 13
seconds or so. Maybe you're just a little spoiled by the 99 turbo,
though!

that goes from the IP to the auto transmission. The bushing at the auto
transmission end has left the premises. Unfortunately, MB no longer makes
that part available!!I find it outrageous that MB would stop
U-Haul is probably your best bet. They'll rent trucks with
hitches, and they'll also have the tow dolly available.
Or you could buy a cheap pickup truck in Atlanta and sell it when
you get home...

The trouble is likely just that the belt has a fold in it and may be jammed
just behind where it goes into the panel. You could take the panel off and
inspect the "run" of the belt. The belts are getting pretty supple after all
these years and I have to be very careful when I unlatch my belt

what with all the earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes in the past 10

Dave - I was in some of those homes in N. Pakistan a few years ago [when

I'd think that an un-opened can would be fine. I'd also try cleaning

If you had a rusty or wrecked SDL, I think you could make a frankencoupe by
pulling the dash and everything under the hood, repainting the engine
compartment,
and installing the dash, wiring and drivetrain from the SDL. Might need carpet
too,
depending on how hot it got.
