First, contact a dealer or good independent mechanic and order a new
set of keys. I would also get a new ignition lock cylinder at the same
time, hopelully this is the correct key.
MB will have records, but you will probably have to order the cylinder
and key(s) from Germany.

right, but i just don't have the time to mess with diagnosis and replacement
of a transmission in a $500 car that I don't need. But given the low
interest in parts from this car (e.g. seats, wood trim, engine, turbo, etc)
I'm probably goign to pass.

1. Transmission: The tranny is controlled by a computer and the cable that
connects the two weeps tranny fluid into the controller. You need to replace

the engineers I see the one dowel pin between head and block was bent
over at about 5 deg. This resulted in the hole for the pin being
slightly elongated and this in fact has made the adjacent cylinder out
of round - the metal ha

OK is the opposite - their are a LOT of small "businesses" created
here because teh tags are considerably (half?) cheaper for commercial

Nah, not that much. They just assess a weight fee. For a 7640 lb truck, it's
$350. About $50 less for a 6260 lb truck, and about $50 less than that if you
get one that is under 6000 lbs.
