My wife's been complaining of wacky AC vent behavior,
often going to defrost, and/or losing center vent
output. Since I was fooling with the radio I pulled
the PB array and had a look at its solder joints.
I touched up the switches themselves but didn't see

So I've noticed something of a correlation in that my
oil-fouling #7 plug problem gets _much_ better in hot

seal problem as a possibility, would this be indicative
of a head gasket or a ring problem?

Jim,
Did you reflow the solder joints between the bottom board and the side boards?
That's the most common area for failures when it comes to solder joints in the
PB units.

Yes, but I'd rather it worked correctly!

HI,
My girlfriend has a '96 Buick Skylark and the Passlock anti theft system is
failing. Does anyone (D. Snook maybe?) know the troubleshooting procedure
for these?
Yeah, I know. Friends don't let friends drive anything but Mercedes...

The squirters come out easy - I always took them off any time I waxed my cars.
They have two "legs" that stick out, one forward and one back. If you have a
pair of long needle nose pliers, remove the hose from each carefully, then use

Just a guess, but if you are satisfied there is no leak along the

leaking less when the ambient temp is warmer. Could be a crack in

You sure? We are talking 124. What about the heaters? is there a
plug that comes off the squirter, or do you take out a pigtail with

front being smaller I didn't see any king of "legs" to clip it
in. I could slide the squ

Take the hose off of both nozzle sets, then go to the do-it-yourself
car wash. Blast soapy water down the jets backwards -- they are
clogged with crud stuck in the rear of the nozzle, and poking
something down there will just push it off the nozzle until it pops
back up.
