See ARCHIVES for description of my "topsider" that I built with items I'd already owned for many years, 'cept piece of plastic hose/tube. Yes, I tested on my 123, 124 & 126 and found that sucking the oil via dipstick tube removed more than draining. 'Have not used it on the 211.

Yup. researched heavily while looking for a replacement for the wife’s R129. Avoid, especially the older ones. If he really wants a car with a Vario (hard) convertible top, go with the later SLK320. It’s got the V6 M112 engine that is far more robust and reliable, and no blower to deal with.
