These things use a header tank that is (a shit, can't think of the word) but
you can see the coolant level in them. The level sensor can get filled with
crap and make it go wonky but are easy to remove and clean. Doubt the air
bubble theory, I have changed coolant in 201's a couple of dozen time
The 201's use a vaccum pump (under the rear seat) to operate the locks, easy
job to wire in a remote thingy.
Timing chains and flex discs are wear items and should be replaced BEFORE
they break and do damage.
Given the mileage I'd be worried if those things have not been replaced.

I am reasonably sure in the M104 they went to a completley electronic
injection system, as is found in most modern cars. The 103 motor still had
CIS-E.
AMG produced a 3.4 and 3.6 litre version of the 104.

Well just to be difficult I could argue that the M103 is less complex than
the M104 and from a maintenance and repair point of view is superior to the
104. However performance wise the 104 beats the 103 design in every way.
