Sounds like you may have a plugged rubber hose, not a caliper problem.

Check the stealership. They are surprisingly competitive on things like rotors
and pads.
Rotors and pads for the front
anywhere else.
I know some guys hate remans (Hursty had some quite unkind words) but the
set I put on my '83 240D worked out just fine.
