The nvidia-settings program does help a lot, especially with the flicker filter. I've found over the years, that quality wise, the cards rated in the order of Matrox, ATI, with nVidia in last. In terms of overall usefulness though, they rated nVidia, ATI, Matrox (again, my opinion). It would be
