That's actually a good question. My thought would be that as the
partitions are all formatted you shouldn't need to re-format any of
them, including /. The problem would be that anything in the upgrade
that belongs in those partitions will overwrite anything it has to at
will anyway.

For stuff I've downloaded and added myself I usually try to make sure it
goes into /usr/local which I have on a separate partition.
I'd like to do that too, but RPM's usually put stuff in /usr/bin,

A few days ago I asked if there were any good HTML editors for linux. I got

Let me clear up my question.
I am looking for an HTML editor that I can use to create and write web pages in

Well, he DID say he was running KDE. :-) Besides which, he said he'd had

Hi,
how do I tell trn to use my local machine as its news server? I just
installed leafnode, and that said to make a file called /etc/nntpserver

saying it can't find a newsserver.
Try swapping the order of the DIMMs...sometimes the hardware will see both
simms/dimms as the same size, especially if the smaller is installed first.

If you're using the default Mandrake kernel, the PPP module is there.

I figured out what I did wrong. I needed to run isapnp.
So I ran "pnpdump /etc/isapnp.conf" and modified the results of that

no IRQ or DMA used.
So I need to run as root:
