I rebooted awhile ago and when trying to bring up firestarter I get a
segmentation fault I removed and reinstalled via urpmi, same error.
Drakconf System process shows it to be running. Can I assume it is
running and that the problem is with bringing up the GUI? This is on MDK
9.0

I've successfully setup Yellow Dog, Mandrake, Gentoo and Debian on my
Powerbook Pismo, so it's certainly worth trying to put Mandrake on your
old tower. The PPC versions of the distros are a little behind the x86
versions, but they are certainly useable. The only thing that is a

And why does it start whenever it wants too? When running it takes up
almost 100% of my cpu resources. I've searched the archives and found
only two articles pertaining to it. Neither explain why it starts on its
own. Google.com/linux seems to be no help either.

When starting any type of video file I get:
New_Face failed. Maybe the font path is wrong. Please supply the text font
file (~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf).

I have a C80 connected with USB. When I installed Mandrake 9.1 it found
the printer automatically. You might try going to Mandrake Control
Center / Hardware / PrinterDrake. If it is not showing up trying
selecting Add New Printer. There is an autodetect or you can select it
from the list.

That should enable all 3 CDs for you.

is with font sizes in KDE and gnome. about 1 time in
4 when I start my machine all the fonts on the desktop are extremely
small. restarting normally fixes the problem but then it will come back
again unpredictably.
any ideas?
