I think you should have a look at the courier site
http://www.courier-mta.org/intro.html
it looks like it could be the solution to you problem.

Group : System/Servers
Size: 66007
I shoulda done a little more research before posting; I realize now
that Sendmail isn't what I need. Okay, so I need a POP3 server. Only
a POP3 server; the corporation I'm setting this up for will have it's
own SMTP server. Any recommendations for POP3 servers (Open-source,
preferably)?

I reinstalled on Sunday rather painlessly). Currently I've got "squid" set up
(over dial-up!) but it's only a HTTP cache/proxy ie no POP3 mail.
This means I won't be able to use Outlook Express

Hi all,
I've setup Postfix on my Linux Mandrake 6.0 (plus patches) box, and it
can pass mail back and forth for my domain just fine. However, now I need
to look at the mail it's received, and I'm trying to use the built-in
